Some game world information.

I can't remember exactly where we were last time - I think you all got back to the city safely and dumped the corpse and the drow with the authorities.

The farmer's wife has claimed that her husband and nephew were murdered by the party membersand this crime carries a death penalty.
This will need to come to trial as the king cannot allow such accusationsagainst his appointed representitives to go unchallenged.

The farmer's wife and surviving family members have all been charged with high treason (which carries a painful death penalty).
The king himself has declared that the trial will occur in 3 day's time; the party members will be expected to appear as witnesses for the prosecution.

A representitive of the king's treasury has provided you with an amount of gold.
For the simple task of returning the orb intact, each person gets 50gp.
Similarly, for capturing the farmer (or at least bringing back his body), each person gets another 50gp.
Lastly, there is a "finder's fee" of 500gp to the party for locating the entrance to the underworld.
It is a condition of payment that no word is spoken of any of these activities to other people.

Thomas Rodstock, the chief Sage to the King, is interested in anything you may have retrieved from your dangerous adventures.
He mentions in passing that sadly his apprentice was destroyed during recent investigations of the orb and wonders if you may know of anyone looking for a job vacancy.
